Beijing

Last weekend Tiago and I traveled to Beijing with all of the students from our program.

Friday

We took a bullet train in the morning and explored the forbidden city. After checking into our Airbnb we went to the Olympic park. The park is amazing and free, and I highly recommend visiting it if you are in Beijing.

We finished Friday night by going to the night market. Several of our classmates tried fried scorpions and crickets.

Saturday

The next morning 12 of us got up pretty early to take taxis to the remote village of Nan Ji Li. From their we scaled the mountain till we reached the great wall of China. Once we reached the wall we had to pay a lady 5 Yuan to climb on her makeshift ladder. We hiked from there back to Mutianyu, the popular part of the great wall.

After we got back we went back into Beijing and explored the lakes and temples there. 

Sunday

Tiago and I got up early and attend church at the Beijing Baptist Church. After church we went to the summer palace.

Finally, we took a bullet train back to Tianjin!
